Kieran week 2

Not alot has been going on other than we have been staying busy taking care of Kieran. On Friday we took a trip to Salt lake to see Daves Grandma who passed away the next day. Kieran did really well on the trip. It was sad to see her go, but now she is with grandpa, Kieran got to meet Daves moms family and Don and Ann, and aunt Pam. Needless to say that was a busy day for him. We also took him to Blackfoot on Wednesday and he got to meet Aiden that was alot of fun. Over all Kieran seems to be easy going and just fun to play with. Of course the blog wouldnt be complete without pictures.

Happy Birthday to Kieran!

At 5 AM yesterday, I was woken by Megan informing me "Dave, I don't think you should go in to work today." As this was the news I've been waiting for a month to hear, I didn't even mind being woken up for it. :)

Megan informed me that she had started feeling contractions around 11 PM on the 27th, shortly after I had gone to bed. She let me sleep all night long, but she didn't sleep at all that night. After waking me up, we stayed around home for a few more hours, with her walking around, taking a bath, etc. At 9AM, we left home, and since Megan wanted a little something in her stomach before going in, we stopped for a breakfast sandwich from Burger King. From there, we went to WalMart (of all places) to continue walking around and encourage her labor to progress. We hadn't quite made 1 lap around the store when Megan informed me that she wanted to go to the hospital now.

We arrived at the hospital at roughly 10:10, and were admitted shortly after 11, after having gone through triage. Megan progressed quickly from this point. In triage, she was measuring a 2, and by the time her doctor arrived at about noon, she was a 9. Instead of an epidural, they opted to give her an intrathecal (which is same idea, except a 1-time shot, rather than a continuous catheter drip), since she was progressing so quickly. The intrathecal was supposed to last about 3 hours, by which time they expected to have a new baby in the room.

Instead of working out how we thought it was going to, her progress kind of stalled out at this time, with no more progression for a long time. By the time she had progressed that last little bit, it was 4PM when she began the hard part of pushing.

At 4:43 PM on September 28, 2009, our little 7lb 11oz, 21in boy, Kieran William Anderton, made his appearance. Despite having a little bit of a rough birth (cord wrapped around neck twice, and body a 3rd time), he is a healthy little guy, and has had no problems thus far. He is eating well, and sleeping well, and has spent a surprising amount of time awake and looking around at this big new world.

So, Happy Birthday Kieran! Your first was a rough one for you. Hope the rest go a lot easier.

Still no baby

Here we are about 10 days or 6 days overdue (depending if you go by doctor or ultrasound) and we still don't have a baby here. I was hoping that maybe he was holding out for today since today would have been my grandmas birthday and also Daves grandpas birthday, but no I guess he decided that he wanted to have his own birthday. Even though I am a bit disappointed the doctor did set a date for me to be induced, it will be on the 30th which is next Wednesday. I am looking forward to having the baby, but I am not looking forward to having to be induced, but at that point he will be almost two weeks overdue, and they don't want to risk the babies or my health by keeping him to long. So at least we have a date and there is a end in sight. We dont really have any pictures to post this time, but next time we will have a baby that we can post pictures of. I just wanted to let people know what was going on, and that we didn't forget to call them we just had nothing to report yet.

Starting of school

I can't believe that the summer is gone already, this week on Wednesday I went back to work as an aide at Syringa Elementary. The kids don't start up until Monday, but the staff returned this Wednesday, It was nice to be back, but it wont be to much fun going back during my last month of pregnancy. I found out that This year they are placing me in Special Ed, which is completley different from what I did last year I am still not sure that I like that idea, but they didnt ask me. I will have to see how I like that. The baby countdown has started his due date is September 16, which is about 3 weeks away, I of course can not wait seems how tired and cranky I ve been. At the same time, wow the time has flown by and now its not to much longer. Next Saturday on the 29th we will be having a baby shower I finally got out the invitations this week (sorry if they get there late) it will be from 1-3 in the afternoon, if you cant make it I understand, but if you can I am very excited to see you there. For some reason people have been asking about my belly, which I swear is getting bigger by the minute, but this is the most recent and best belly picture. This was taken about a month ago.
This one was taken about a week ago when me and Dave took our little adventure to City Creek, its not as good because it from the front not the side, but as you can see he has grown alot.Well I think thats all for now, I need to go to bed and try to sleep.

I was pretty impressed by this picture I think that it really showed what Daves new lens can do. It is neat to see him become interusted in something, and he is starting to have a real knack for it.

Dave informed me that I posted the wrong picture. The problem is I cant see very well what I am downloading so hopefully this is the one he wanted. I think I still got the wrong one but there will be others to post.

Kieran's room

So Dave worked very hard and he got the baby's room done. We, well actually I decided to do his room chocolate brown with baby blue accents, and I also came up with the idea to do Beadboard on the bottom. It was a bigger job than I thought, but Dave was a very good sport and got it done I love it, and Dave loves that the project is over with, though I do catch him occasionaly sitting in there.
The other day me and Dave took a drive to city Creek trail, there is a very good reason people normally don't take cars on the path it was very bumpy and we got stuck, but Dave managed to get us out. Thankfully I didn't have the baby in the process, so I guess we will chalk it up to Kieran's first adventure. While we were there Dave did get some good nature shots, he loves to take these kinds of pictures.

West Yellowstone

We got the chance to spend the last couple of days in Yellowstone and West Yellowstone with Pam, Cleve and Marilyn. It was good to get away but I have discovered that it is hard to travel when seven and a half months pregnant.
On Monday we headed out and on our way we stopped in Idaho Falls and Dave bought a new lense that take really good close up photos.
On our way up we also stopped at Mesa Falls and looked around there for awhile.
On Tuesday we went to Yellowstone and Dave got a few good shots there also.

Then that night we went and saw Guys And Dolls at the Playmill, we really enjoyed that.
Then on Tuesday we went through the Park and then that night we went to the Playmill again and saw Footloose. That was also a good show, but I liked Guys and Dolls better.
